So I just got my C&R a few weeks ago. Only took about 4 weeks from the time I dropped it at the Post Office to the time it landed in my mailbox! Say goodbye to my mad money, I guess...

Here's the question... If I use my C&R to buy a Mosin Nagant in its original form (C&R approved) with the intent of dropping it into a synthetic stock (yea - ugly), will it still be a legal purchase with my C&R??? Just a little paranoid and want to make sure all the "I"s are dotted...

Yes. I would advise saving the original stock so you can convert it back to C&R if needed. (Like if you should want to sell it to another FFL03 from out of state.)

Here's a question for C&R holders........
Given the OP's question, I buy a C&R which must be logged in my Bound Book.
I restock it with a non-original type stock (synthetic) which removes it from C&R status. Do I log it out of the book at that time or when I dispose of it at a later date? If I don't keep the original stock, how do I indicate that I acquired a C&R but disposed of a non C&R??:evil:

Added: (Without falling afoul of the "building a rifle for sale without benefit of a Gunsmiths FFL")

It does lose C&R status once modified, but I'm not sure I'd log it out unless it was unable to be easily restored to original configuration. Moot in my case since I don't bubba my guns.

If I did log it out, I would just make the notation that it was modified from original configuration.
