Words cannot describe what this does to me. I hope we can get some Colorado-type recall action here in the Golden State.

"New sales of semi-automatic rifles with removable magazines would be banned in California under a bill passed by the Democratic-led state legislature on Tuesday, and those who already own such weapons would have to register them."

This seems like it is similar to Heller in so much that semi-autos are in very common use and have many lawful purposes, including self defense. There just needs to be someone to fight it. Maybe the NRA-ILA, perhaps?

Exactly! A Desert Eagle 50 cal would also be legal while a 22 plinker with a small magazine is illegal. It makes no sense.

Actually, no. What did I say in any of my posts that indicated that I have not been active in opposing any of the gun control legislation in my state? I'm quite active.

Exactly, people assume that we just now started fighting, I've been fighting since they came at us back in '86. Too many others have wanted to "vote" them out! Yeah right, like that will ever happen in my lifetime.

The time to vote from the rooftops is what's needed, so I'll wait to see how many are ready to put up! I'm gonna guess there won't be many willing to and for those that say move are no better then the politicians that come up with this crap. When it hits that last state you move to, what are you going to do then?

I have a lot of friends in CA and I mean a LOT. Every single one of them complains about the politics in the state yet I continually hear them talking about how bad it is. They complain about taxes, gas prices, power bills, illegal immigrants, gun control, education and on and on.

I think it's time to DO something rather than just complain. I am fortunate to live in a state that is about as far from CA (geographically and politically) as is possible. Unfortunately the weather and scenery in California pretty much trumps all the good about Alabama.

do you really believe sending an e-mail or making a phone call will turn California into Arizona?? never happen cal is lost and other states will follow and gun owners will be condensed into a shrinking number of states. recalls mean nothing just for a year or two. tens of thousands of communists are being incubated in all the top colleges and law schools to replace them

Honestly, I want the worms who introduced this legislation to be FORCED to explain just what these bills do to reduce crime.
Our state has a mandate to release some 10,000 criminals from our over crowded prisons and we are taking the CITIZEN'S means of defending themselves away?????
That makes NO sense!

This is BS and we are going to see massive non-compliance. And if Sheriff and other LEO are not going to enforce the law, what good is it?

I heard a Marine on the news talk about gun control a while back and he said it best: "Unconstitutional laws are not laws."

I have been fighting since I was 8 years old growing up on the north shore of Long Island, New York. Back in the 1960's it was legal to buy black powder pistol kits through the mail. I finally saved enough money to buy a .36 caliber revolver kit and it was shipped to me by the distributor in NY City. No one asked, cared or required a minimum age for purchase of said kit. Somehow, the local LE found out about it, came to my house in the middle of the night and demanded that I turn it over to them. It was a totally illegal and criminal action. When my father compalined about it and went to the town mayor, no one even admitted to the act. That opened my eyes real wide!

Has there been any victories in favor of the Second Amendment in California in the past 8 years? 12 years? 16 years?

My point is, that if there has not been any victories and you like California, it is your home, you like your job, you like the climate, all of your friends are there, etc., then it seems you should obey the law and continue to vote for officials that support your concerns.

Most all LE from the larger cities and towns will gladly enforce whatever law passes; most are now younger, never grew up around firearms, and want nothing to do with your civil rights.
