Wife visiting her sister this weekend and coming back today. She sent me this photo earlier and said her sister has had it in her closet for at least 30 years, doesn’t know where it came from, and wondered if I would like to have it. I was shocked as good fortune rarely smiles on me. No dash Model 10 under the crane. So it’s on its way. Should have hands on in in a few hours.

Sister in laws X was a shady character so going to have my LEO run the SN.

Well, the price was right!
Congratulations.
Is that .357 or .44?
O.k.
I blew up the pic and saw it is .38spl
I was close

Yup! Hopefully it checks out clean and will have a great home with someone to appreciate it now.

Those square butt snub nose S&Ws are so oxymoronically cool. Nice catch!

Indeed! I have a 3” J frame Model 36 with the “dainty” J frame square butt grips, K frame ones are a bit larger. As weird as they look they do give the gun a much better handle to hang on to. ;)

Op; When you get a chance to shoot your new Model 10 let us know how it does for you.

Stay safe.

Love it. I have a M64 Snub. Awesome addition for you if it all checks out.
If it was me, I'd take it to the range once before you have it checked just in case.;)

I'm glad Lady Luck has found you , How cool would it be if it turns out to be your most accurate revolver...
Take care Alte.....

So it's a Model 10-7. It has some holster wear on the front of the barrel but a barely noticeable cylinder ring. Probably carried a lot and seldom shot. The barrel is bright and shiny with what looks like the remains of a cobweb and dust. The best thing is it holds six rounds. My EDC, for the past 15 + years, is a 5 shot Model 36. This one is a bit heavier. I have two other model 10's with 4" and 5" barrels so plenty of speedloaders and ammo and fits one of my OWB Bianchi holsters.

Have severe arthritis in my R knee but I think I can hobble to the indoor range soon.
