Just a reminder to all of us who carry concealed to do so responsibly:

It's not clear what *exactly* happened here... but it's clear enough that the man was lucky that the toilet and a laceration to his arm were the only serious injuries.

Remember to be careful everyone! Don't let your guard down!

I keep hearing these stories where someone dropped a gun, and it went off.

I sure would like to know if they are true. I feel very confident that I haven't ever owned a handgun that would go off if dropped from height of 3 or 4 feet. There was one last fall where a gun fell out of someone's pockets at a service (Yom Kippur), and "went off".

I don't know much about the histories of various transfer mechanisms, but haven't almost all handguns that have been manufactured in the last 25 years been built to prevent this kind of AD?

The story says it's a Kahr P40. I own one and there is no way that the gun could go off just from being dropped. The drop safety blocks the striker and will not let it go forward unless the trigger is fully depressed. There is more to the story then he's saying.

Well, at least the idiot didn't tell a room full of people that he was the only one in the room qualified to handle a firearm right before it went off. That must be the worst.
