What is the most comfortable way to carry iwb??? For me so far it is right behind my hip, about 4-4:30. Just curious to where some of you other pot bellied fellas carry iwb.

200 lbs, 5.10- left handed, 7.30-8.00, seems to work best for me, use a tucker holster, plastic clip for belt, tucker makes a great IWB sometimes have to wait a while, worth it tho.:)

Well I'm just pregnant don't know bout the rest of y'all :p

Milt Sparks VM2 in horsehide for my 1911 or my XD just melts away. I wear it everyday, all day long.

I carry my M&P40 in a Bladetech kydex IWB holster at 3:30 position

BTW I prefer the phrase 'Fred G Sanford profile enhanced' over 'potbellied'

You know that is a thought provoking question. Since my abdominal surgery 3 months ago, and the good cooking of my Lady, I am having more trouble seeing, much less tying, my shoes. I have had to go up one size in my pants and now have way too many snacks in the house. Since I moved to a small town in the mountains, I have not carried concealed. How would I do it with pants so tight I have a crease in my sides and belly from the waist band, and forget about wearing a belt.

Darn! Now you got me worried. No fair! Oh well time for another Bon-Bon.

For us vertically challenged it's easy, OWB or my preferrence shoulder rig. When I IWB it's usually at 3:30 under a loud Hawiian shirt.

If you are fat how to carry

I believe fat people should not be allowed to carry. If you are over 200 lbs and under 6 feet you should carry a knife. One way to carry is in a loop of rawhide around your neck . it is called a drop. The knife hangs over the back and under your shirt. Be sure when drawing this to use, that it doesent get caught in one of your chins. Also heat rash is a factor.

5'9 275 (and dropping) and I carry my M&P .40 IWB at 3:30 in a cheap Uncle Mikes size 5 holster. I will eventually find myself a nice piece of leather but as of yet no issues with concealment or comfort.

Does horsehide offer any benefit over cowhide? I am going to be putting VM2 on order and I'm torn between the Horsehide and Cowhide.

Thanks.

NM, I just found what I was looking for. From the Milt Sparks site:
What is the difference between cowhide and horsehide?
One of the more notable properties of horsehide is its natural ability to repel moisture. This is due to the dense cell structure of the hide thus limiting its porosity. This natural ability to repel moisture makes it very useful for certain applications, particularly for use inside the waistband.

Unlike with cowhide, horsehides non-porous nature reduces its ability to fully absorb the casing solution during the forming process, making it much more difficult to get good crisp detail of the weapon when molding around the gun. Also for the same reason horsehide tends not to absorb the dye and finishing materials as evenly making it in my opinion, somewhat inferior in that respect to good cowhide.

On the durability issue there has been much BS circulating on the mythical wear characteristics of horsehide. I will not argue that a well made horsehide holster will give you many years and possibly a lifetime of good service, but with proper care a good cowhide holster will last just as long.

Some of our holsters combine the use of both horsehide and cowhide, taking into advantage the desirable attributes of each material. So which material is better?? That is a personal preference issue. Where horsehide is available as an option, the choice is yours.
