Case Feeder Tubes

I'm wondering if any of you Loadmaster users have had to find a case feeder tube that better fit your cases. My problem is that my 40S&W cases are catching their rims in the previous case's mouth. When the feeder moves it forward, it jams it against the next case up, and it either stops, flies out, or simply tips over. I've adjusted the feeder six ways from sunday to try to get it to feed reliably, but the only thing I found that works is the slightly tighter constraints of my bullet feeder tube. The cases are tilting slightly in the regular case tubes since they fit so loose.

Has anyone found a good place to get cheap rigid tubing like these, or should I just order some more bullet feeder tubes from Lee?

I use the large case feeder tube and made a funnel from a 1/2" copper tube that I flared slightly to go inside the large tube end so the cases don't cock as they are being dropped.

The only draw back with this insert is that sometimes the cases will hang in the bushing and not drop down to the pivot block without a little help, but most of the time it feed pretty good.

Thanks, Idano, great idea!! It's looking like the weight is another fact, which I'd heard, but never really toyed with. I can reduce the number of cartridges in the tubes and it'll feed nice. Maybe a pin through the feeder-tube to act as a cut-off between the reliable feed point and the ones above. Get down to two or three left, pull the pin, and it'll finish off the tube. Maybe I'll try that first, but I will definitely keep your idea in mind. I have a lot of copper pipe floating around here somewhere.

If you can lessen the flare on the copper tube so that it is more of funnel shape it would resolve all of the feed issue with the insert; this is something I need to work on now that the indoor range is closed for the summer and I won't be shooing 400 rounds a week. I don't know how you prepare your cases but here is how I go about it and it works well for me.

I always tumble my brass immediately after I get home from an outing of shooting. When it is done I install the large case feeder tube and copper insert to resize and deprime my brass. Occasionally I turn the case feeder tube so that the cases drop down to the pivot block. Then I run every case through a gauge block and those that pass clean the primer pockets and toss them into a rubber maid container until I am ready to reload.

When I am ready to reload I install the small case feeder tube and load away without any feed issues.
