My Dad took two pocket knives with him to Vietnam. A Buck and a Case. To this day he insists that Case are junk and Buck are excellent.
Reason? The Case rusted like crazy, but the Buck didn't. However, what he didn't take into account, and I can't change his mind, is the fact that the Buck was stainless and the Case was CV.
I have, and enjoy, both Buck and Case, but in my opinion nothing takes and holds an edge like a Case CV. You do have to "season" them first, but once done and wiped down from time to time a Case CV knife will give many years of hard service.
