I would go with the Buck. I find it amazing that it's still made in USA and available at Walmart for <$50.

The Buck 110 fits my hand like a glove , that's my choice . I also like the 112 , it is a little smaller . I carry the Buck 110 more during hunting season and the 112 more as an everyday knife .

For me it's mostly a sentimental decision. Back in the 70's pretty much every fireman and likely police officer carried a Buck 110. I started with one on my belt, but found it impossible to reach in a proximity suit. So I put another fitted with a Flickit in my right coat pocket.

After I got hung up on a safety line and couldn't reach my right pocket I slipped another in the left. Then as luck would have it, never needed either for anything serious, go figure.

Thinking back most of the firemen had a variety of things in their turnout or proximity suit jackets. Hos straps, spanner wrenches, snoopy wrenches, flashlight and so on. I started out with only a flashlight, but soon learned the guys were carrying these things for a reason. A couple started to carry two Bucks in their coat pockets after my little adventure. Did anyone ever use that second one. Who knows.

I like both, but usually carry something that I wouldn't cry over if I lose it.

The Buck 110 is truly a classic in the modern knife world. I messed with Buck's during the 70's and found them difficult to sharpen then. So, I carried a Schrade 250T for years for work and woods activities. I bought a new one (USA) a couple of years ago tor nostalgia reasons at a show, but have not used it. Generally speaking I have substituted other knives for these tasks as my knife accumulation grew.

I do own several Buck 110's however; just didn't use them back when they were really popular.
