I have thought about carrying on my person and my understanding is 3 options if not a pocket pistol those 3 shoulder harness holster setup, inside waist band and outside waistband, i rule out shoulder because it would be always a jacket, what are the pros n cons of inside or out? am i overlooking other options? Uncle mikes are cheap but i hear it is low guality and not idea, what ideas?what suggestions? Thanks

Inside the waistband (henceforth shortened to IWB) gives more concealment because only the butt of the gun is exposed; the rest of it is (obviously) inside your pants. You may need to purchase pants with an extra inch in the waistband, or an elastic waistband, or it can be quite uncomfortable. OWB (outside waistband) is a little more comfortable but requires a long cover garment to completely hide the bottom of the holster (or gun, if a belt slide type). Personally, I use IWB almost exclusively.

I have mostly used IWB holsters over the many years I have carried a concealed handgun. I find that the IWB holsters conceal much better in all types of dress. The OWB may be more comfortable to many but I don't find a big difference. If one has a generous waist, then it may not be as comfortable. Also, if one has a large belly but tries to cover it or is in denial and deals with it by buying shorter trousers that are a few inches smaller than their actual waist size and suspends them below their gut, no belt holster works very well at concealment and particularly not a IWB holster.

My best advice is try them both. I have both for all of my CC guns. You will have to wear both for extended periods in various clothing types that you normally wear and under variable conditions to really know what you prefer. For the types of guns I carry most I have OWB, IWB, shoulder, ankle, pocket and fanny pack holsters and use them all at one time or another. Some more than others. Many would suggest that you carry the same gun in the same type of holster in the same location on your person to avoid confusion under stress. I can't argue against that...Good Luck

I carry both IWB and OWB. I carry a Commander size 1911 most of the time or if I'm really concerned about concealment a Sig 232 in .380. I started carrying the 1911 OWB, but have grown to prefer IWB as it holds the but of the pistol closer into my body. For the 1911 I use a Galco Summer Comfort for IWB carry or a Galco Silhouette for OWB (mostly in the Fall and Winter when I am usually wearing a sweatshirt over a T-shirt). For the Sig 232, I wear a Bianchi #3S pistol pocket holster. I also use a Bianchi Bag when I don't feel like carrying either on my hip. One can never have too many holsters! :)
