Ok , I went out and fired a couple of the new Queit rounds followed by a cb long in the 16" barrel. The cb did not cycle the rifle but i new that before hand. My wife said she could hear a bit of a difference in sound with the cb long and with no action cycleing sound, that might be the difference in noise level. That is from from 50 feet to the side of me. We used the cci cb long in a 511 rem with a 25" barrel for critter control at our last house and it was very quiet for sure, mainly a fireing pin drop was what was heard. But that does not make a far compairison in that long barrel till I get my old rifle back from my kid to try the new ammo in. Velocity was very low do to drag in that long barrel at only 610fps with the cb long. I also fired a couple rounds of the QUIET in my 20" kidd barreled ruger and to me it was about the same . But to my wife 50 feet away she said it sounded very different from her 16" barrel, just less noise. When I can get in the field behind out house I will have a better idea of true noise level from 25yards off. No DB meter so hard to real say but seems the longer 20" barrel does make difference in the sound level.
Knowing how 22 ammo is, each of us will just have to try to see how well it shoots in our firearms . We all know how ammo and .22s can be when accuracy is wanted. Should work for small game anyhow. I sure hope it is wolf/sk accurate at 25 yards. It would be nice to have a cheap, quiet 25yard ammo that can also shot 1/4" groups. HA
bhk Interesting on others haveing cycleing issues allready. To many pages for me to work thru, just found it today. I order it after reading CCI saying it will cycle in semi-autos. Atleast I know it does in my 2 rugers. I do have a son-in-law that has a marlin 795. I will have him stop by to try it and see how that goes. Glad to here others like the accuracy of it.
