Now proud to say the Mighty MO!
I finally got my leather rig for CCW, it consists of a heavy leather belt, pancake style OWB and mag carrier. I've noticed walking around the house today that the rig creaks a bit, not terribly but I can hear it. I'm guessing as it breaks in it will decrease but is there anything else I should do? The literature that came with the leather suggests appling wax for durability, but I don't think that will help with the creaking.

I have found that by infrequently applying baby powder to the belt loops of the holster I eliminate the creaking.

I kinda like the creaking. Makes me feel more comfortable because i can "hear" that its still there.

It's a non-thing. Leather on Leather is going to make a certain amount of noise as it moves back and forth.

Don't worry about it. No one else will care. (or likely even notice)

Shoes do that sometimes, too, especially when they're new or have been soaked. If your rig is still creaking in a week, you might try a little leather preservative—or a very little of any light vegetable oil from your kitchen.

creaking leather??:what:

just wear it until it doesnt creak any more and then Go with God:D

it is a non-issue

One of my sho rigs ... Bianchi X-15 ..... is wicked for creaking ... it is partly the belt loop but also the whole thing creaks. I think wax could make it worse.

The baby powder deal is probably the best way to reduce it, but cure ..... doubt you'll get a total cure. Mind you, a belt rig much less of a problem ... instance my old Jim Burke .. currently holding the SP-101 . NO creaks at all.:)

I would not worry about the creaking noise, few people will ever hear it, those that do won't know what it is. If they look at you funny, just say "excuse me"!:D

Bees Wax on the "interference points" will take care of it until the leather breaks in and the creaking goes away...........baby powder works well also.

As far as saying excuse me........you would have people clearing away from you which is never a bad thing....................LOL.

Shoot well.

I know this is probably crazy...but I think that those of us who CCW can have a touch of a romantic streak in us that harkens back to the days of the Old West...somehow, that leather-creak sets my mind at ease and helps my psyche rest since "Big Iron" is on my hip, right where it belongs.

Okay...now back to "Rawhide" reruns...Via Con Dios, y'all...and crank up the Marty Robbins while you're at it... :)

The creaking and poping in my knees effectively covers up the creaking of my leather goods.

Regards,
Happyguy:D
