Legislation has been passed and will take effect 90 days following its being signed by gov. Taft.
Many questions re: setup and many other details, and certain other details are already in debate, but the wheels are in motion to hopefully iron out the issues and Ohio will have a sensible CCW policy.

Note: One of the points of contention has been the release of a list of permit holders to be made accessable to the media and the Cleveland Plain Dealer has already stated that they will publish that list. At first, that bothered me because it appeared to me that they would be giving the badguys a shopping list, but then it later ocurred to me that it would also be a list of places that the badguys could possibly encounter a firearm aimed at their chest.

Anyway, please wish us luck in Ohio.

JUST MY $.02

Congratulations!!

And I'm guessing that CCW records are public records, so that would be the grounds on how the Plain Dealer can publish them.

Whatever.

As you say, the Bad Guys will then know where NOT to go!!

Question,

If they grant reciprocity with other states, (don't know if they do), will they get records for everyone in those states too?

Russ, it was published in one of the local newspapers this morning that apparently there is a reciprocity agreement in place with Indiana and Kentucky.

As Chrissy put it so eloquently years ago
"A, O, way to go, Ohio"
No one shouting "blood in the streets"? "Dodge City shootouts in Cleveland"? No threatened injunctions?
AND Reciprocity TOO?
Good job.
How long was the battle?

No one shouting "blood in the streets"? "Dodge City shootouts in Cleveland"?
Oh, there was a lot of that.
No threatened injunctions?
Well, the antis are crying 'referendum'
AND Reciprocity TOO?
the proof is, as they say, in the pudding.
Good job.
How long was the battle?
At least 10 years. TheBluesMan can likely answer that one better.

Dupe thread.
