I love AK's but the M-1 Carbine or the Mini 14 sound like very intelligent suggestions.

SKS's are cool but VERY L-O-U-D! (as can be the Ak's)

I see a lot of recommendations for the Ruger Mini 14 in .223, but no love for the Ruger Mini 30 in 7.62x39?
