I am contemplating doing a chamber / throat casting of my Remington 700. but I don't know how feasible that is without removing the barrel. I am thinking that if I pour to much in (into the locking lugs), I may never be able to get it out. Is this a real concern, or am I worrying about nothing?

It is a real concern but also not a big deal. I did exactly what you feared with a Mauser. I simple took the action out of the stock, did it barrel up and gentle warmed it with my heat gun until the Cerro safe melted out. The melting point is so low you won't hurt the gun at all just go slow.

Yes, such BooBoos can be (relatively) easily corrected.

Over the course of about 2 decades I suspect that I have used Cersosafe a lot more than most private individuals. I collect milsurps, so ... :)

My cerrosafe frustrations have always occurred because of pitting that I had failed to notice and/or appreciate.

Heat it up, clean the mess, start over. ;)
