serious chamber cast problem

Not serious!

Cerrosafe melts between 158° - 190° F.
Water boils at 212°.

Take the wood off.
Turn the gun upside down, heat the Cerrosafe up with a heat gun (or carefully with a propane torch), and it will run out.

That much heat will not hurt the gun.

Once you get it out, take the barrel off the action if it's still on, and make sure you got it all.

Not that big of a problem.
Just heat up your chamber either with a Heat gun, a propane torch, or submerse it in Boiling water.
Once warmed up, the casting should pop out, but if the overpour is too great, then you have to Liquify the whole casting and pour it out.
I have had to do this when I used too much Plug in the barrel and the rod couldn't generate enough force on the Cussion to pop the casting loose.
That move is called "Over Ragging"

Got it out. Did some cleanup. Got most all of it. If I'm not completely sure that I got it all, I'll take the barrel off and check some more. Really not looking forward to removing the barrel. Too late to ask Santa Claus for the tools I'd need. Thanks again for the replies. I was panicking there.

@ Willymc
If I may ask, Why were you doing a casting of your chamber ?
Were you looking for something in perticular ?

I'm going to be reloading for the 300 blackout. I'll be making my own 300 blackout brass from .223/5.56 brass. I just wanted to see how much wiggle room I have on the neck dimension. Thanks for the tip about the chamber brush.

willymc, I have been involved in chamber casting threads before, none have had a happy ending. The last time I was involved there was a member calming he used the casting to determine head space? No one ask "HOW DO YOU DO THAT?"

I waited until everyone had time to critique his answer, noting, it was about that time I ask' "How do you do that?". I can only guess there was something wrong with my question or everyone thought it was not possible and said nothing.

There is no shortage of chamber casting material around here, I have a feeling I have a different type of material for casting. The material I have did not come with a warning label but a search supports the recommendation, a warning label is missing.
