I have starting casting some 230 gr. bullets in 300 BO. For the time being these will be lubed only. I have a good load with MBC 245 gr. coated bullet, using R-7. My cast are not as hard as MBC's Bhn 20, not that that should matter at low pressures the sub loads run at. But there doesn't seem to be much load data out there for R-7. And if I venture into other bullets, I'd like a powder more supported with data.
Anyone who has used CFE-BLK in sub loads, what has been your impression of the powder? Is it a comparable powder to say AA1680? Which I have not seen on the shelves in my area. I'm curious if the CFE is a worthwhile powder.
This is being shot out of a AR pistol, 8.5" barrel, with no can attached.
