I have two Charter revolvers, both recent: One in .41 mag that is the most hellaciously recoiling hand gun that I own, and one in .45 LC that is rather close to it in terms of recoil. I like the .45LC, but the real reason I bought it was because I found it at DE Guns for only $169 used. The reason it was so cheap is because such a heavy hitting round in a lightweight revolver takes a toll after a while, IMO - The cylinder lockup is a bit on the sloppy side. However, I've talked to CA and they said they will fix the gun, I just haven't sent it into them yet. It's shootable as it is now, but I don't feel as confident in it (because of the lockup) as I'd like to be. I assume my .41 Mag - which I bought new - will develop the same issue if it's shot enough. IMO, these guns aren't meant to be shot a lot. They do have a lot of punch from a small package, so that might be optimum in some hiking scenarios.
