I'm looking for a source of a low cost ghost ring receiver sight for my Marlin 1894C. Can anyone recommend one? I have seen some beautiful ones which cost about half of what I paid for the rifle, too much for me to spend, so I'm looking for something budget here.

My rule of thumb for scopes is a scope will cost from 30% to 120% of a rifle, so I figure Irons should be close to the same, Don't skimp on sights, Get a good Lyman 66la or a williams 5D.

"Buy cheap" normally means buy twice.

Yeah I do know you're right about that. I have a closet full of crap I got before I went and got the quality equipment I should have in the first place.

Anyone want to buy a worthless cheap green laser sight? Not only can it not hold a zero, it won't even zero at all...

If your Marlin has a dovetail for the rear sight

I will tell you that I was in Brownell's (60 miles from me) 6 months ago and asked for some type of peep sight for a little .22 Stevens Favorite, the modern one, rifle. The gun tech there fixed me up with a ghost ring and a dovetail adapter. It cost me a total of about $20. I can't tell you the part names or numbers off-hand but I have the invoice in my gun area of the basement. I have a feeling you no longer need this information because someone has already filled you in. PM if you need to. I might even sell you the set because I bought two sets for two rifles.

Brownell's has the Williams Foolproof receiver sight. Mounts on the left side of the receiver in pre-drilled and tapped holes. You can use it with or without the sight disk. Without the disk it is a great ghost ring.
