I was shopping the Berea Ohio gun show when I spotted this Model 19-4 with a price tag of $350....since I had just sold a pistol for about the same amount, I jumped on it...Pinned &recessed...just needs some wood grips and a tyler T-grip.
It was from a dealer who sometimes has police-sold firearms...it has a case number and "exh.2" electro-penciled in a couple places...dosn't bother me, as it is written pretty small, and this is a shooter for me...a handgun with "history".
I have wanted one of these 2.5" Model 19's for a very long time.

Definitly a gun with history and character to go with it.

I have a 66-4 in 2.5" and it's a fun gun to shoot.

Post another picture when you get her cleaned up and ready to go with the new grips.

Paid $250 for my almost new (only had 16 rounds through it) in 1986. Fun to shoot, accurate, excellent concealed carry gun....If you fire magnum rounds through it, use 140 grain or heavier to minumize flame cutting of the top strap.

19-2 & 27-2

That's a nice looking nickeled model 19! I wish mine had the red ramp.

Here's my bargain deal model 19. Its a 2.5" 19-2 and came with the wood grips numbered to the gun. $300 OTD last summer. The bluing looks better in the pics than it actually is.

And then there is my $425 3.5" 27-2 with grips numbered to the gun. That was about 3-4 years ago though.

These are some of this most useful guns ever made. I bought a nickel one a few years ago to save wear and tear on some others. Absolutely love it.

Pinned &recessed

The one below is a the same, a 19-3, but buyers should not be hung up on that. This was not the best era for S&W, a prior one or a non pinned/recessed 19-5 is on average a bit better built.
