I have never bought anything from CTD. I happened to stumble across their website tonight. I have heard numerous times about price gouging during panic times. Just ridiculous price gouging. I know someone could make the argument that they are able to buy something they don’t have and don’t mind paying double, triple, whatever. I’m just gonna pass during good times and bad to CTD.

People go to a website and see high prices during times of scarcity, then get upset about the price gouging.

What they fail to realize is that if they are visiting the site by the time the prices are increased, they're already too late. Why? Because if the prices hadn't been inflated, the products would already have been bought, and there would be nothing left to gouge.

They have been famous for this as long as there has been internet sales and shortages. Its a too each his own thing. Obviously it must work for them as they are still in business. I personally LONG ago stopped buying from them but I am sure they could care less. When there is a shortage they make big bucks for a while and have to guess many must keep buying from them after. Free market at work.

Good points.

If you buy selectively, they're not bad. Know your prices. I got a great deal from them on HXP (Greek surplus) .303 British.

About every other crisis or so, I go to their website and bookmark something stupidly ridiculously high priced. Within that bookmark I edit to say '' price gougers [date] [price, item, quantity] [company name] never buy from again ''

I go to websites like this (as reported) about every other crisis or so, and bookmark a stupidly extra high item. Then, I edit the bookmark to say ''price gougers [name][item, description, price] ''

That way, in case I start looking for something off-crisis, it's a simple reminder...

I don't know if they still send out catalogs any more? I do kind of miss them. I got them for many years after I no longer bought from them. I liked getting them to peruse the cool stuff. If I found something I liked I would then search for it on line and of course buy it from someone else. Catalogs were cool to leaf through though. Maybe I should be some stupid cheap item just to get back on their mailing list :D:D
