I need a Commander length 1911 slide and barrel, I'd prefer a blued slide but I'll take whatever I can get.

I'd like to spend less than $300 for both pieces together.

Where is the cheapest place to buy a Commander length 1911 slide and barrel ? I'm not looking to create a tack driver, just a plinker and beater level carry 1911- hence why I say that it doesn't have to be anything precision.

Thanks !

Just slide and barrel? How about barrel link, firing pin & spring, barrel bushing, sights, ect. If you need all associated parts it could get pricey, you might have to fit the slide and barrel as well. You might be better of with getting a Springer combat commander around $550-$450.

Commander barrel and slide

Suggest start cruising Gunbroker and gun shows: Sometimes a whole upper comes in in your price range, but I would think 375-4 is more likely.
Second suggestion is Caspian or Fushion for the slide.
A new barrel is going to come in over 100 wherever you get it; if you can accept used, Gunbroker or a show are your best bets if your budget will stand a bit more, (like fourish) I would suggest the Caspian or Fushion slide and there are still Ed Brown Commander barrels out there, which will require a little fitting; Storm Lake will be less expensive, and Fushion which will be a bit more. I have never regretted spending a little more for better quality parts.
Cheers, TF

Caspian Stainless Commander slide: $237.00 Ususally a drop on.
Ed Brown Commander barrel: Natchez Shooters' supply: $211.00.

Prices as listed this AM.
As has been stated, other parts for upper will cost a bit more.
