I once lived in this area and was a littled surprised when I heard this. It took place near the Belmont & Western Police station in Chicago. My prayers go out to his family and fellow officers. To all the LEOs out there. stay safe and never let your gaurd down.

Chicago should really get it's act together more quickly and start adopting crime fighting strategies THAT WORK: such as CCW.
