Apparently the Ds are having a "sit-in" demanding a vote.

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/house-Democrats-hold-sit-gun-control-n597041

I guess if they don't like the result, they'll throw some kind of childish tantrum. Absurd.

But they already got a vote. Four of 'em, in fact. And they lost. Tough!

This sit-in tantrum will shortly be followed by toy throwing and fist and head banging.

Soon enough, a pacifier will be produced and much-needed naps will be had.

Babies.

It is a political stunt to try and force Republicans to go on the record of being soft on terrorism by not banning them from buying guns.

The Dems already know they don't have the numbers. Why force a vote if you know you're going to lose unless there are ulterior motives.

I did find it odd that they are 'sitting in' until they get a vote...when (as has been said) they already had 4 votes yesterday.
At least they are all very practiced at this....sitting on their butts is what most politicians do best (of all flavors).

The same page on the news had a 'millennial mom' throwing a hizzy fit over her daughter learning the current 'hide in the bathroom' tactic.
I guess the internet is all bent about the horrors of our children having to grow up like that....like what? We were taught 'Duck and Cover' when I was a kid in the 1950s....I don't recall being TRAUMATIZED for life by such things.
Although I do recall wondering how hiding under a school desk or in a road ditch would save me from an atomic blast.

Yeah, childish act aside, I'm not completely sure I understand. There already was a vote and they lost. So they are sitting in to force another vote... do they think it will have a different outcome this time?

One of the definitions of insanity is doing the same thing again and expecting a different result. Seems about right.

Heck, if I were an R in congress I'd be tempted to say, "ok let's take another vote" and then just beat them down again!

That way, long into the future we could say "we addressed this issue and voted on it, not just once, but twice. And twice it was decided not to enact further gun control measures."

The more they press this the more seats they will lose in the fall. Let them vote again. It won't pass, and then we can see if any of our congress critters are wavering on our rights

While I like the idea of beating the Dems over and over, the number of times voted on something is irrelevant, and could actually be harmful, because it will allow the Dems and Reps to always ask for another vote if the first one doesn't go their way. Soon a vote would lose its power.

Sorry to jump in after closing, but I think we need a quick civics reminder:

But they already got a vote. Four of 'em, in fact. And they lost. Tough!

This is in the House of Representatives. Those votes were in the Senate. Remember we have a bicameral Congress and what one chamber does is totally separate from what the other chamber does. Just because one Senator grandstanded for a few hours one day doesn't do anything to dissuade from a bunch of Representatives doing something similar.

(Sorry for the late entry.)
