Bought a Chinese drum! Got it for $150 of ar15. Man these things are fun! Seems to be of good quality and feeds reliably. I took a few pics to share. What do ya think? Feel free to add your own!

I will post some pics once I get back from work today.

Cool drum! How many rounds do those hold? 75? 100?

I hear every time you shoot with one of those it makes a Brady bunch member faint!

Congrats- the wood looks really good on the rifle. Did you stain it? And the drum itself is really nice, I think the Chinese drums look better than the Romanian ones (slanted vs straight).

Here is a question- how does the recoil and cheek weld feel with an underfolder?

And does a drum make you blow through more ammo?

Junk rifle, Better send it at the drum to me, send the ammunition as well.

I'm kidding, it's a bit prettier than my AK's.

Look at the pic where it is open. You feed the rounds into the open areas with the primers up. Each rectangular area holds about 6 rounds. The smaller circular areas at the end of the "prongs" each hold one round. I counted on mine several years ago, and I think it held something like 76 rounds. The slotted areas closer to the center do not hold any rounds. After it's full, you close the back and wind up the spring with the little butterfly handle visible in the other pics. Hope that helps (although a picture would be much clearer). :p

Arms flailing and running around like a chicken with no head --> EEEEEE who needs a gun like that, its just for killing, think of the children EEEEEE...

LOL

That's a pretty sweet setup..

How she works :)

You will need a drum and ammo to start

Next you must open the drum by unlatching the two side tabs.

Once open, press the button in the middle to release the spring.

Next, while holding the button, rotate the center of the drum clockwise until the follower can no longer turn. The follower will move along a spiral pattern until it reaches the end.

Now you are ready to load the magazine. Place the cartridges in every available space as shown, bullet down.

Now just close the drum back up and twist the tab on the back 3-4 times when ready to shoot. The Chinese drum can remain fully loaded, with no tension on the spring, until the drum is ready for use. A few quick turns and it is ready to go.

Here is a video of how the drum feeds the cartridges throughout the magazine.

Chinese drum is the best you can get. Reliable and high quality. Not many drums are reliable, and most are difficult to load and use. Chinese one is easy as can be to load and use.

Yeah I did the stain job. Think it turned out ok. I like the Chinese better as well.

Recoil feels normal. One good thing about the stock is that it puts the recoil further across your arm. It is very comfortable shooting.

Cheek weld feels fine. I rest right on the stock. It is comfortable and works (though not as good as the original stock. Close though.)
