A neighbor said he has a "cheap" Chinese SxS that he wants to dig out and give me... He doesn't remember the name of it. I can't for the life of me find any double exposed hammer Chinese SxS 12 Gauges. In other words, I'm not letting him give it to me.. Need to give him something... That's how I am. Any ideas as to what Chinese made SxS? I've never heard of one! If there is such a thing, are they safe to shoot?

If your goal is to shoot it a lot, please don't be too disappointed when it fails. Cheap SxS guns are just that - cheap, meaning barrel regulation, trigger quality, overall quality are severely lacking.
If your goal is to shoot it once or twice a year, it might last you a while

I shot one for a couple seasons of SASS...never a problem, barrels were well regulated and it ate everything I put in it. I know I had close to 1000 rounds through iut when I sold it and the guy who bought it shoots it as much as I did...still going strong. Mine was a Norinco 99...a copy of the Remington 1887

I have one of the 200 dollar exposed hammer sxs that I shoot regularly at hand thrown clay frisbees. I have blasted quite a few other things with slugs and buck shot (hurts). Seems fine but I don't know how it would stand up to 16,000 rounds in a year.

You shoot 1000 round in SASS a week? How many SASS competitions do you shot a day? Most are less than a box of shells per compeition.
No I didn't shoot it for trap...a 20 inch cylinder bore just isn't the right gun for that. But that wasn't what I bought it for. You have to understand that unless you are a dedicated competition shooter 1000 rounds a years in a shotgun is more than most will ever shoot.

....that one of those Norincos would make a great SBS (with the proper paperwork, of course!). Instead of chopping down a nice old Stevens or other decent old timer. Or spending some bucks on a new double and hacking it. A 20 would be nice for that.

I never said anything about SASS, I talked about firing a shotgun - I average between 10 and 15,000 rounds per year

yep..........except I shoot 3X per week - about 100-200 each time.some weeks I take a break........but at the end of the year, I look at the number of wads I used 3 cases at 5,000 per case................
Oneounceload you may be a madman. I would stick the smile face here if I knew how to work it. However Just because you shoot that many rounds through a shotgun doesn't mean that a body should avoid a cheap chinese sxs does it? Never mind a free one! For 200 bucks when mine fails I'll pound it the ground like a big tent stake or hurl it into the lake. ( another smile face). But man you shoot a lot. I wish I could get a quarter of that action in.
