Choosing a pump action 22

This might sounds silly but a possible option for those of us w aging eyes....
Is to put a reflex sight at the rear sight dovetail using an adapter
 
A reflex sight ( Chinese made ) on an old blued steel and walnut American .22 classic......might seem blasphemous.

But it would help in shooting and NOT require permanent alteration.
 
Had a 121. Pretty good rifle, but it didn't do much for me. So I sold it an bought a Marlin 39A. Now there is a really fine rifle. More money than the two you are talking about, but I REALLY like it.

I have never heard anything but the best about Marlin 39s. But I just don't get along with levers, myself. Maybe pumps require less coordination. :)
 
I have an old model 12, predecessor to the 121. Can't tell you how many bbn 1000s of rounds have been shot thru it, and have never replaced any parts. I would guess the same would be t4ue for the 121.
