Bills to allow concealed weapons on college campuses failed this week in both Louisiana and Texas, two states that were considered extremely likely to pass such legislation this year.

Exactly, but it makes some people "feel safe" and that's all gun laws do anyway.

it makes me sad to see the responses to this and think that one day in the past I might have been in agreement with them. But I blame growing up in Illinois. Don't know what's wrong with people down here being scared of guns.

What I wonder is if The Chronicle would have carried the story if the laws had passed!

They would have carried it. But it is interesting to examine the actions of two so-called gun positive governors in these states.

Coyote Boy could have used procedural meaures to beat the chicanery. He was noticeably silent as the TSRA has pointed out.
