Cimarron - TRUE Single Shot :-(

I have always wondered if paying the elevated tariff for a "Cimmaron" versus the basic brand was worth it. Now I know.

I would file police/sheriff's case reports for stolen property in all three jurisdictions.

Gob and Bill, I'll let you know if I ever get anything in my hands.

Bill, I don't participate in *any* social media, especially FB. Signal to noise ratio is waaay too low in any of them. Besides, I'm not looking for any leverage, and I don't think the company would give a whit anyway. Having said that, my purpose here and on other forums is truly informational. I've been too much a believer in "corporate morality" in the firearms industry if nowhere else. So the posts are to provide substantive information about this particular transaction. It strains credulity to think I just happened to be the 1 in a million customer that's had literally everything go wrong in his business dealings. Blowing off the Better Business Bureau was the final confirmation of my dealings with a selling company (Cimarron) and a purported reputable manufacturer (Chiappa).

So sorry for resurrecting the thread. Finally:
Rifle arrived 5/24/2021. I finally got it to the range a week later, all my reloads chambered but failed to allow the block to close, causing all sorts of bad thoughts. Ultimately turned out to be my error (whew!). Over-crimping causing enough case bulging to cause failure to completely chamber. A second trip a week later after remedying the load problem was successful. All rounds chambered, locked up, and fired. This was a function test only, but the rifle seemed to be reasonably accurate. "Normal" load and accuracy development will follow. This closes out my experience with Cimarron/Chiappa.

Take aways:
Would I buy another Chiappa of any model? NONBFNo [not only no but fersure no]
Would I buy another ANY make/model from Cimarron? Same answer
Not here to bash. It's just that the comedy of errors, failure to answer communication (the snow storm notwithstanding), and the seller's (Cimarron) apparent inability to get satisfactory responses from their own supplier (Chiappa) just doesn't make it worth another purchase. Coupled with the rather poor repair efforts makes it a "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." YMMV

-jb, expending energy on far more important things

He's saying Pedersolis are way above Chiappa in every respect, something I will agree with. I'd get a Pedersoli over a Chiappa every time.

NIB. Cimarron appears variously to be made by Chiappa or Pedersoli. The vendor was MidwayUSA.com (whom I love BTW), sent to my local FFL and transferred to me as original owner. It was packaged and shipped by Cimarron with all original packaging and paperwork. It's brand new, unfired.

me noting you should be aware of your past posts.

Not trying to be too be a smart butt but if you’re going lay down that much loot for rifle I would make sure if it was a Chicrappa or a Pedersoli. Use this forum as resource for real world reviews before you purchase and you would’ve saved yourself some disappointment. Nobody would’ve recommended a Chiappa over a Pedersoli

Touche Jimster, you're right.
My intent wasn't to compare to Pedersoli. My beef was with the seller, regardless of the brand. If the suggestion is you get what you pay for, couldn't agree more. Opinion only, but had I bought a higher end rifle that went south, I don't think the service from Cimarron would have been substantially different.

-jb, appreciate the correction

Nice segue Jimster, I appreciate the transition

... Welcome to the joy. Post pics when you get a chance.
Aw, shucks, well since you asked ...

No apologies. Functional (now!), affordable (to me), my first Sharps, looking forward to the learning curve and loading tendencies.

-jb, pretty sure I read this
