I've looked for a used puma in 454 on and off for years. I find them , used and double what I'm willing to pay sight unseen.Rossi has 454 Casull on their site.
It’s been years since a distributor has actually had one though.
Boyds was making furniture for them. I was gonna get a set for my .357 92A 454 ‘92 would be great, especially if the hideous furniture could be replaced with wood, even Amazonian rainforest mystery wood.
I have an H&R Classic Carbine that was reamed to 454 Casull by a previous owner. 250 grs at 2250 is nothing to shake a stick at. Something a little less butch, like say 1850, would be more pleasant to shoot and a magazine full of them would make for a very potent little rifle.
Just what the firearms' world needs .... another tacticool lever action rifle. Nothing against the calibers but ......
Same here. For a general use , handy rifle it'd be tough to beat- good for mice up to moose.I agree but if one in 454 becomes available, I will buy one immediately. I’ll just hit up Boyd’s.
So I went and asked......I’m really curious if even one 454 version has been sold recently. The earliest article I can find about these guns in general was from May of 2020. I can’t seem to find a shooting review for any of them either.
I am very interested in a new production one of these since the used ones that quit being sold around 2017 go for $1000 per on average.
Very interested but highly annoyed with what I see as being vaporware
So I went and asked......

I'm gonna see if my FFL. buddy can get one......said in wasn't spending anymore money on guns this year........
Citadel is listed under legacy sports. I think it's probably a Rossi 92
This outlet is pretty definite that it's a Rossi product:

My FFL buddy has us on the "wait" list. He spoke to his legacy rep yesterday, and the response was factory is down, wait times are 6-7months. Might turn out to be vapor ware, but my buddy was impressed with the rep enough that he thinks it WILL hit just not sure when.Any news on this vaporware?
Yeah, Im.getting money stashed for it if it does show....if not I'll buy something else lol.Well with everything else COVID has messed up, I am sympathetic to the delays that this rifle is seeing.
I really don’t care for the aesthetics of the gun. I just like the 18” barrel and 454 Casull chambering. I’ll live with or modify the look.
If it's typical Rossi stuff, may be able to find a replacement lever on Ebay.Yeah, Im.getting money stashed for it if it does show....if not I'll buy something else lol.
My feelings are pretty much the same as yours.
There's some stuff I don't care for, but I can live with or replace those components. Honestly for what I'd use a .454 lever gun for, the only thing I really don't like is the big loop lever.
Supposed to come with a peep and pic rail on top the barrel...least from what I've read and the pictures I've seen.I’m as much a lover of contemporary looks as anybody, but there is something right about these new rifles. There is plenty to debate as being wrong, but I honestly can’t imagine changing anything about it unless it has those awful buckhorn sights that come on the Rossi rifles. Those would have to go. Even for a 100 yds and in hunting gun those buck horns are not doing what I would need.
Yep, I'll actually start looking for a cheap one now....tho who knows I've always just given the big loops back after a magazine, might get used to them.If it's typical Rossi stuff, may be able to find a replacement lever on Ebay.
