I'd shoot one, maybe even buy one. I'd like some firsthand experience with the redirected recoil system.

We also intend to offer a custom-designed magazine extension kit that will add 17 rounds to the Glock 21 magazine, taking the mag capacity of the KRISS CRB/SO to 30 rounds (which of course will fit your Glock 21!).

So if you've got a G21 you'll reap the benefits as well.

So here it is in all of its glory, the Kriss Super V Civilian Version:

It's ugly, but it's a good kind'a ugly.

I wonder if you can get it with the folding stock and SB if you pay the SBR tax. Whats up with not putting the folding stock on the Civy version anyway? Many other weapons come w/folding stocks?

The KRISS Vector CRB/SO is an ATF-approved, 38-State legal (folding stock), 16" barrel semi-auto version of the KRISS Vector SMG.
I think it's got the folding stock...

But I wonder if a version with a fixed stock would be Kali legal? The trigger's not below the action.

Neat experimental rifle, but it seems to me in a semi auto format it is a solution in search of a problem.

:)

Would be very interesting chambered in that itty bitty 5.7mm..., or redone for a much wider slug, such as the 50AE. If ya gotta have something just outright bizarre, go the whole way. Zipper or hammer.
And yes, I'd have one, just for the Buck Rogers look.

Edit to add...the very next page on thier website says this...
If you're lucky enough to live in one of the 38 folding stock States, you have the chance to own one of the very few KRISS Vector CRB/SO's that will be available in 2008. Once these are sold, we will not build any more.

What would one use this gun for?
I can't see it excelling in home-defense or target-shooting. Hunting? Nah. So what use would it have?

Why not, the "why not?" catagory That's what a lot of our firearmas are good for, the "why not" factor. The KRISS carbine as it is, might be able to play certain roles in home defense of short range varminting, but it definately fills the weird catagory.

It's a piece that looks like it'll see a lot of success in sci-fi/action movies. Expect to see Vin Diesel brandishing one at a theater or drive-in near you soon.
Castrated smg's have never had much appeal to me. The whole reason for this thing's design is cast away when it is manufactured as a semi-auto. I'll pass.

I don't complain when a firearms company introduces something new for us civilians, and I say more power to TDI. Now whether it will sell well or not I won't try to predict, but I think that TDI will probably do better business with the 17 round Glock 21 magazine extensions they developed for the Super V, rather than with the Super V itself. The Glock 21 is a pretty popular pistol, and there always seems to be a market for magazines with increased capacity.

I'm not sure the design does anything at all for a semi-automatic design.

Please elaborate on that. Its design is to reduce muzzle climb so that rounds fired in full auto stay on target. How would that not be a help in rapid fire semi auto for follow up shots?

Now if you are referring to a semi auto SMG in general, I don't necessarily disagree, but a buttstock is always a nice option for accuracy IMO.

"Muzzle climb from a semi-auto pistol caliber carbine is generally not an issue"

Never rapid fired a .40 KelTec Sub2000 have you?

I love the fact there is going to be a civilian version of the Kriss. Though I'm not excited about the 16" barrel. I have hopes for a "pistol" type with a short barrel that might better accommodate home defense. But from all of the news releases that I've read it is simply a semi automatic version of the military/LE version, folding stock and all. And they are developing the action for other ammunition. I've read that they're working on and will be releasing a 12gauge version in the near future. impactguns.com is already taking orders for 'em.

I can see how having a very-light-recoiling 12 ga carbine, with a decent ammo capacity would fit into every market that deals with armed encounters - military, LEO, and home defense. I can even see Lee Lapin busting clays with it, for a laugh. But I just don't see where this semi-auto pistol-caliber is any advantage. If they can successfully lobby to get the registry open again... Now we're talking. I'd love to have a full-auto .45 available for when the dogs start growling at O-Dark thirty...

Do you have any idea how hard it is to count those M&M pairs? It kept looking like you had 11, and I kept counting, then realizing I double counted one, then checking again and coming up with 11, and checking again...

That's, like, 45 seconds of my life that I'll NEVER get back. ;)
