I have Dillon 45acp dies. They get pretty gunked up with lead. Is OK to using gun cleaning solvent to clean them, e.g. Hoppes.

I thought you had to use Blue Dillon Smurf Cleaning formula?;)

My other brand dies are cleaned with the same cleaner I have for guns. Old #9, brake cleaner, CLP, whatever I have.

I've used Hoppes on mine without any problems. Last time I cleaned a set I used Hornady One Shot Cleaner and Lube. Worked well.

I assume its only the bullet seating die?
Sure, clean with solvent of choice. I usually just swab em with a Q tip without removing them. Once in a long while, I will pull the center and clean everything.
I bought a set of brushes at Harbor Freight that look like the brushes we used to use to clean baby bottles and I pull the center of the dies then spray with One Shot and run the brush through the die. Works fine.
