Nice. You'll enjoy it.

BTW, the finish isn't blued, its Parkerized. I don't think there is any kind of Parkerizing touch up you can do. There are places that'll repark it for you. Not sure on the costs involved with that, but it sure do make the rifle look nice.

BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN SANDING THE STOCK, if you even have to sand it at all. I'd use mineral spirits and #0000 steel wool. Use the steam method to raise as many of the dents and dings as you can. If you absolutely have to sand it, nothing coarser than #220, and don't sand around any of the cartouches. There's aprobably a P on the bottom of the pistol grip, a Defense Eagle on the right side and possibly the last 4 digits of the SN stamped back near the butt.

Thanks.I actually did know it was parkerized and not blued, just got carried away i my excitement and wasnt dong a whole lt of thinking (it happen, I admit i):D I guess.I highly doubt i'll pay to have it redone, and the receiver is neary 100%, its only the barrel thats worn, so I probly wont worry about it.As for any sanding, I fully intend to avoid any markings/catouches in the stock entirely.I would never risk sanding one. There's a very good chance that i'll only clean and degease the stock anyway, since it's really not bad at all. it will likely depend on what it looks like from just cleaning first. If it cleans up as wll as i would expect, sanding will likey be not worth the effort/risk for only a minor improvement. There's a good chance I ultimtely won't have the heart/guts to do anything but clean the stock when It comes down to the moment of truth.Luckily, in spite of the kinds of things i'm prone to saying i'll do when I'm all excited, I do make sure to wait until i'm level-headed before I ACTUALLY do it.:D I blame all these cool guns for always getting me all excited.:)

Happy days to you!!! I've had mine for about a year now. Get to the range and soon you will hit steel at 300.:p

here's a CMP question. On page 2A of the order form towards the bottom, it asks for a notary public etc underneath the applicant signature. Is that for me to have filled out or what?

Yes, that is part of the paperwork you must have completed and sent in with an original signature. There are provisions within the CMP order process that enable the original notarized signature to remain on file for a certain time period. This allows follow-on orders to be processed during that period without having to get a notary involved. The specific details of this are in the CMP ordering instructions.
