September 12th, 2009, at our place.

Guns, chili, clay pigeons, stealth doves, Ashcraft hospitality, what else could you ask for? And, I have a brand new barbeque that needs tried out.

Be there or be square. :D

PM me for directions.

We go to the folks' houses every Labor Day.
For some reason they feel it's important to see their grandbaby.
If ever you serve BBQ on a non-holiday weekend, I'll find a way to be there.

Labor Day? Dang, I didn't realize that. I was just trying to pick the Saturday closest to the dove opener. We usually do the bulk of our salsa canning on the Labor Day weekend.

Would the 12th work better?

either day...or both!
That will work! I plan on doing salsa on the Labor Day weekend, but we can shoot some doves on Saturday anyway.

We'll do the official get together on the 12th, with the green chili and all the trimmings, but we'll do a dove hunt on the 5th to boot.

You guys really need to come shoot some of these Asian collareds! All we'll need is some bacon, toothpicks and jalapenos.

I came by a year or so ago to one of your get togethers. Had a good time - hard to believe it has been so long now.

I should be back from Iraq and in the Springs by then. I'd like to come by if I can secure some free time.

Dang, that is the day of the Scottish-Irish festival in Estes park... well, that whole weekend.

I wont be able to make it. I gotta go representing the clans, ya know

By god, I am going to try and finally make it. You haven't had 400 pounds of salsa eating fun show up at a get-together yet, and it's high time you did, hahaha

Whew, we're probably gonna be out of town on the fifth to show off a new Ellis kiddo to the grandfolks, so I'm glad to hear it's on the 12th. Can't wait! I'll see if I can wrangle a couple other Colorado folks to come down (I'm talking to you, H&Hunter!)

I'd love to make it, but it'll be a last minute decision depending on how disgruntled and sadistic my professors are that week.

Question for Mr. Ashcroft: Is a small game permit necessary for dove?

If I make it, make sure you introduce yourself so I can welcome you home. Take care over there.

It would have worked better, but that is the opening day of muzzleloader season!!! And we drew unit 006!!

:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

No biggie. I'll commit to catching a future one.

P.S.
I'm very interested in the salsa now as I'm a connoisseur. Our little garden never seems to yield enough to make a month's worth of sauce. We eat a lot! We made 4 gallons of our recipe back in May, and it is almost time to make some more!

Probably Colorado Springs would be the easiest. Pueblo Memorial Airport is only a couple miles from my house, but not many flights come in here, other than Hoser, when he's buzzing my house late at night in a C-130.

And, Kind of Blued; yes, you need a small game license for doves.

You can count me in. To those who have never been, I highly recommend trying to make it. The Ashcraft family are some of the most hospitable and down to earth poeple you will ever meet. I can most certainly guarantee that you will have a blast (pun intended).

Hopefully the guy with the cannon will be able to make it this year:)

Moon.
