COLORADO SPRINGS – The identity of the gunman in the shooting at a 10,000-plus member mega-church has been uncovered by 9Wants to Know.

9Wants to Know has learned 24-year-old Matthew Murray was killed after opening fire at New Life Church on Sunday.

Murray was home schooled and his last known address was at his parents' home in unincorporated Arapahoe County – the same home investigators searched Sunday night.

9NEWS was unable to find a record of Murray earning a high school diploma in the Cherry Creek School District.

It is still unclear whether there is a connection between Murray and the shooting at an Arvada missionary training center.

You almost had me baited. I just erased a rather lengthy writeup on how my five children are adjusted just fine.

Instead, let's look at your statement. By using your logic, then, students who are public schooled should be just fine socially. Let's review the recent shootings. Hmm. How many were committed by homeschoolers? One?

Although I can't speak for Markbo, the triple question marks at the end of his statement made me read it like he was wondering if that's the implication to which the news media was referring by making that piece of information known.

Along those same line, the fact that the news channel couldn't find a record of the shooter earning a high-school diploma in one district tells us only that they couldn't find a record - an admission that a news team probably shouldn't make hand-in-hand with the boast that they know who did the shooting. To me, it implies that they rushed to press with one piece of information while leaving out other, possibly important pieces.

Anyway, the police apparently think the two shootings were related, but they don't yet have any evidence that they'll willing to make public, so until they say for sure, all any news outlet says is speculative at best.

Guys, not every "home schooled" kid is there because the parents care... I know one who was so antisocial that she basically had every school she attended tell her to go somewhere else. Now she's at home. And pissed off that she doesn't have any friends. Sigh... Maybe with age will come maturity, but I'm not gonna bet on it.

Gotta love how he's 24 years old, six years out of school and they find it necessary to mention
he's home schooled. All the info they have is he's 24, home schooled and a killer. Give me a break. How do you know he's home schooled without having more info. Sounds like someone in the media has an axe to grind with those who eschew public indoctrination.
