This Colt 2nd Gen 1851 Conversion revolver is supposed to fire .38 special. The cartridge cylinder does not look like a Kirst style. There is only this picture and I'm just curious if anyone is familiar with this set-up. Haven't seen an interchangeable cylinder like this one. Colt 2nd Gen 1851 Conversion.jpg
 
I'll admit I don't know all there is to know about conversion cylinders but it looks like a Kirst to me.
 
If it IS a Kirst and doesn't have a lined barrel ( .357 instead of. 375) it'll be "reload only" and . . . it's got a short arbor! 🤣

If it came with the percussion cylinder the barrel isn't lined. If it came with a .357 bore and somebody added the percussion cylinder to the "set" it's an accident waiting to happen.
