Ok I've been doing my own research on each one of these but have never shot any of these. I know the HK p30 is kinda in another ball park but I want to compare it anyways.
I own a combat Sig P226 threaded. I originally wanted the Combat P220 but the deal i found on the P226 2 years ago was too good to pass up. I like the gun a lot but its not my go to gun. I dont shoot it as well as a couple of my other guns. I believe its due to the wider grip. I have handled the Combat P220 and really like ergonomics of it... and feel I could shoot it well due to the thinner grip (single stack).
The HK's I have no experience with what so ever with the exception of my HK Uramex 22lr MP5 which is a great little replica.. Very impressed and happy with it.
The HK45 ergo grip felt great in my hands. And obviously a very well built gun.
The P30 equally felt great in my hand. Well balanced, well made.
I'm at a bit of a dilemma for the HK45 because it doesn't come with night sights, and is not threaded which I want. I can also find the combat used for about 150-200 bucks cheaper. And its still a weapon that is employed by military units. The ergonomics of the HK seem better but the P220 feels nearly as good to me. I know people have complained about sig reliability issues but I haven't seen it. The 2 extra rounds of the HK45 without having an extended magazine like the p220 is nice as well.
I already own a nice Smith 1911pd (its my house go to gun, and my favorite to shoot). But the HK45 or P220 combat is a zombie apocalypse gun. Easier to break down and clean and would like night vision and suppressor options.
The P30 comes into play because Ive found one that I might pick up used for $700 DA/SA that has tritium sights installed, 4 mags, and a threaded Adco barrel... But it competes with the sig P226 combat that I already own... Personally I'd guess I'd like the P30 more than my Sig P226.. dont want to sell the sig p226... for the price and options I'd like the P220 more than the HK45... *but without having shot the HK's I cant say for sure...
The guns I collect are for hobby use, range shooting.... I shoot all my guns I dont keep them new in the box. All have to be ultra reliable and be high quality.. and I look for what brings the most value and options... These would be zombie apocalypse guns not necessarily my carrier or home defense.. And I just want to blow money on guns...
Like to hear your guys thoughts...
