It's one thing if your car is on an urban street where car alarms are a constant nuisance, it's another if the car is in your private home garage, perhaps under your house, and the alarm goes off.

I think in the latter instance, it might chase a typical burglar off.

I have a light. Its plugged into a remotely controled outlet. I push button on small remote and light turns on. (I have seriously considered adding a tape deck to it) I come to corner I can hit switch and the room to my left lights up. (fair distraction and allows me to see at night)
If I ever get around to it. :) A tape deck (remember those old things called cassettes?) :) Record @ 10 seconds at end of tape. "STOP. lay down your weapon and put your hands in the air. DO IT NOW" then tape ends. I would think that would be quite a distraction to anyone able to break into house.
BTW I tried it on my car in garage. Nope didn't work. When I did turn it on I could hardly hear it inside house. (winter windows closed)
