I shot at 30 yards primarily because there was already a signpost that someone had stuck out there, that was handy enough to staple targets to. Used a laser rangefinder and it said it was 30 yards away.
I'm pulling shots off a little to the left with both weapons at that distance, where I didn't notice it at all shooting at 10 yards or less. It's got me a little worried that I've got my sights on the USP adjusted too far.
All in all though, I love both of these guns. I do recommend the CZ P-07 as a carry gun, while the Springfield Champion Operator is a little too pricey for me to recommend wholeheartedly. I do love how it shoots though.
The CZ P-07 is much easier to change mags though, hands down. In fact, the Rock Island 1911 is more forgiving on a mag change than the Springfield Champion Operator, something that seems to me to be the tight tolerances on the Springfield actually working against it.
