And you felt the need to post this because???

If a person is in condition White then it is easy to surprise them. Sometimes even a blind hog gets the acorn.

Would like to see some follow up on this one. Read the article, and it sounds like a lot isn't being said. Guy goes out for a smoke and hears someone say, "There's one of them" before being confronted. "One of them?" One of whom? Sounds like the perps were looking for him and his buddy specifically. Wonder why?

Also a little fishy that while they are trying to break into the room, after having been assaulted you can't provide even a basic description...

Something is a little fishy with this one... and by a little I mean a lot...

what kinda dope were they selling in that hotel room?
if he was concealed they didn't rob him specifically for the gun unlike the man in the other story. apples to oranges much?

Would you care to post any evidence that points to the open carrier being robbed specifically for his gun?

Seems like there are a lot of armed robberies:

If the Wisconsin guy was concealed carrying (not allowed in Wisconsin, open carry only), whose to say he would not have been robbed anyway?

The victims were unable to provide a description of the suspects.
:scrutiny:

Yep, there's more to this story than is being reported / told by the "victims."

The victims' story seems like a farce and I'd bet they were involved in something they shouldn't have been...then concocted this cover story.

Time will tell.

Navy, you don't have to justify yourself to random people on an internet forum about your decision to OC.

If a guy walking down the street wearing a Movado watch gets robbed, it would be illogical to claim that the Movado watch did not play a significant part in being targeted.

If I can spot many people who are concealed carrying, it's not to big of a stretch to figure that some bad guy is able to also. I figure that situational awareness is the key, whether you open carry, concealed carry, or don't carry. ;)

I think you may have answered your own question. However if you chat with enough CCW people or read enough posts on gun boards, you will come to realize that a lot of people really do believe that just because they have a gun that they are sufficiently well protected. They are sort of in Clint Smith's zone of being comforted by carrying their gun and failing to realize that comfort should not replace situational awareness or preparedness.

Perhaps he does. The Navy LT and I belong to the Washington state forum at OpenCarry.org. I've never seen an anti-CCW post on the OC board. Wish I could say this board reciprocated.
