Hey guys I'm thinking of the next gun I'm gonna buy and I want to know what the coolest or most unique guns anyone has seen for under $1,500.

Right now I'm leaning towards a Kel-Tec PLR-16

M1 Garand, or Mauser k98.

The Germans build one hell of a rifle and General Patton was right.:D

The Garand is like magic. Accurite as you can be, goes bang every time, and the 30-06 packs a punch.

As the old vets say, if your Garand is frozen piss on it and it will work.

Thats easy:

S&W 327 TRR8 or S&W 325 Thunder Ranch. Just have to decide if you want .357 mag or .45 acp.

How about a pair of AK's from Arsenal. One wooden stock and the other an under folder.
Should be able to swing both for about $1500.

I'd say, for under $1500 the gun that best fits 'cool and unique' would be the Microtech STG-556 (shop around for prices). Bullpup, strange looks, and general cool factor of the AUG. Now only if someone made the A3 forend...

The Chiappa Mini Sharps!

I agree, S&W 327. I just picked up an M&P R8. The gun is just "cool", although most oldtimers find it hideous. Something about retro-tech is just....nice. Who can't use 8 rounds of .357 magnum? For $1500, you could almost get the little brother too.

Yea you could. Especially if you are diligent in looking for the deals. I picked up that 325 Thunder Ranch for $650. It had 100 rounds through it and a nice action job.

Yeah, I just bought the 327 New from Bud's for $975. Cheapest I'd ever seen one advertised for, and I'd been hankering for one for a long time, so I had to get it.

I'm more into modern firearms. I do like the M1 grand though.

Also I dont want to get a revolver next since I already have a 357 magnum with a 6 inch barrel.

Well, since this is the Interweb and 1000 different opinions will certainly help narrow it down, I will keep this simple.

If it were me, I would get the (Insert name of random gun) because it will do (Insert random thoughts about said Gun)

There, took care of all the remaining posts for ya.

Bustin chops since 1964

Or even easier... Get a list of all known firearms and every variation... and there is your list. Next time you ask "Which gun should I buy" on the interweb, you can save yourself some time by just looking at that list...

Colt Custom Shot 38 Super in glossy stainless. You'll have $$ left over for utra fancy grips.

Turnbull engraved Ruger Vaquero and gunleather.

Garand and a couple spam cans of ammo.
Just depends on what you want it for.

Is it just me or is the Mabeta auto-revolver just a show piece that combines the bad elements of both semi-auto and revolvers?

Revolvers:

Good: Reliability
Bad: Capacity and reloading times

Semi-autos
Good: Capacity and reloading times
Bad: Reliability (Ok many semi-autos are great on reliability like Glock, and Springfield XD, but revolvers are still better)

The mabeta takes the capacity and reloading time of a revolver and couples it with the reliability of a semi-auto. That being said, I would still buy a Mabeta auto-revolver in a heartbeat. Just not my next purchase. :D

I've got a line on one for $1800, blued, nearly mint... I'd take it in a heartbeat at $1200-1400 but that extra $4-600 is a whole lot of ammo.
