76010064-64B0-46C8-B401-4631D09B3203.jpeg I’ve had a few crossbows over the years, Yet when I went to my local big hunting store and asked what the fastest Xbox they had was…. the guy smiled and said $4,700. That’s correct- there is a comma in that number. He stated it’s the top of the line and Had a computer scope that drop sight adjusted for distance.
My response was- “Well if on a Tripod in woods, does it link up to your Phone and alert you when your deer is in its sight and push a button ?” Point is- are crossbows getting a bit to technical?

My Ten Point shoots to about 60yards accurately and has drop mill dots in the scope that light up… or don’t. It’s about 350fps, and was $1400 new a few years ago. Now they go 500fps.

Just curious what y’all use.

Wow! I got off the archery technology train some years back and haven't kept up. I had no idea you could pay $1000+ for a bow.

Crossbows have never appealed to me. I'm still using a 25 year old Martin single cam compound. And my favorite, a 50+ year old Browning Nomad recurve that I picked up in a pawn shop for $25 over 30 years ago.

Of course I don't take archery hunting all that seriously.

Had been into Compounds for years and did competing as a teenager. A injury I got kept me from pulling back anymore. So a Crossbow was my only option. Yeah a thousand gets a nice crossbow- and some get really nice. The Raven Xbow’s are very lightweight and toy like in size, Amazily so. Easy to carry and shoot 100 yards accurately. Someday maybe yet $2000 starting price…. Ouch.
I have some sweet hunting spots, archery only tho.

I'd really like to get one but just can't for the short period they let us use them are regs are kinda stupid, basically in 5-10 years the cheap xbows won't even Abide by ny laws. I was looking at the wicked ridge or the ten point. I'd like a Excalibur but regs won't allow any of the good ones.

PSE fang 350. I want to say I paid about $350 for the thing at Academy about 5 years back. Barnett 20" bolts with fixed muzzy broadheads.

From end of Sept to end of Jan I hunt few private spots. Gun time is short, one week and few days. Muzzloader couple days.
A Good Xbow certainly makes for a proper tool when your limited to short range and accuracy. Gotta appreciate the effectiveness of a quality xbow

Had a 225# Recurve Xbow. Was cool yet big. The Barnett I had was also a recurve, not A quality item in my opinion... The Bowtech Striker was impressive. Had a reverse limb Ten point-Heavy for sure.

Yet So far the nicest I’ve owned is the Ten point in my first post. Small enough and compact. Certainly not as small as others, yet plenty modern enough. I think the new era of Xbow’s are really something…. Just to much money.

My 1st bow was a Bear 45lb re-curve. My 2nd one was a Black bear 2 compound. My 1st cross bow was Barnet jackal. My latest is a Centerpoint sniper 370. I still have them all. My son uses the Barnet.

9578714F-D56C-4823-86E0-0B04115A11AF.jpeg Gotta give credit to those traditionalist with the Long bows throwing pigeon feathers on sticks with sharp rocks on the ends. Compared to what’s available now adays

I have an Excalibur with the wider Matrix limbs. It’s a Bulldog 360 I think. Paid $380 last year for it pre-owned.

Shoots about 3” groups at 50 yds.

No clue why you would need anything faster or more complex when you can achieve groups like that.

Before I had my Ruger American ranch sent back to Ruger for repair, this crossbow shot twice as good of groups as the Ruger at 50 yds.

I won’t ever “upgrade” from this bow. I may buy something different but it will always be in this class of crossbows.

I use a Centerpoint Mercenary 390, I think I paid $300 for it on a black friday sale. 2" groups at around 35 yards, haven't shot it beyond that. The bolts went clean through every deer i've shot with it, including one going through both shoulder bones.

Crossbow technology, and the MRSP's, have gone crazy.

I have an older Ten Point that I got for less than $500. My backup is a $175 Horton. I've killed 2 deer with each, and I don't feel underbowed with either. Max range I would consider is 40 yards which is a pretty long shot in the woods I hunt in.

I’ve got a older ten point - backup bow simple yet effective .

someday a newer one. Yet years away from that.

A shoulder injury put me into a xbow a few years ago.
Mine is a cheaper version that I bought at our local archery shop so I could help support the guy, and have access to accessories that would fit.......then he closed down two weeks later......:cuss::fire:

Carbon Express 360 with 4x bdc scope.
I do like it... gave my compound to my youngest son.

Yes crossbows have gone crazy in technology & price but since my shoulder doesn't like my PSE Stinger anymore I had to go with a crossbow.
While everyone was hiding from the covid virus last year I got out & bought my Bear-X Saga 405 at a very reasonable price. And that what I'm hunting with this bow season.

The covid hit so they must have dropped there prices.

Seen many sub $600 bows that exceed 370fps (claimed)

These are nice xbows and certainly will accurately assist with 50-60 yard shots.

The $2500 stuff, I think is just lighter weight- more refined and a bit faster to extend distance and flatten trajectory.

Serious money for them tho

Just bought a CP400 for this season. Previously had a Parker, Horton, and last one was a Barnett Raptor.
Wow. This thing is fast, accurate and very hard hitting, on targets anyway. Just sighted it in the other day and have not had a chance to get it out in the field yet.
Very impressed with it. Love the size as well. 6" axle-axle when drawn. Much easier to move around the stand.

Wicked Ridge xbows are very good and don’t break the bank. My FIL and I have both hunted with Wicked Ridge Invader G3s for a few years and taken several deer. My daughter got her first deer with my G3 last year. The G3s are quite accurate out to 40 yards. I found that mine hits lower than the 50 yard crosshair, so I wont take a shot that far. I bought a WR M-370 with the accu-draw crank for my daughter because she isn't tall enough to fully draw my crossbow. That xbow is good to 50 yards. My FIL just bought a WR NXT 400. That one is also good to 50.
