Crossfire II vs Diamondback 3-9x40

The scope arrived and seems like a good specimen. Glass appears clear, reticle is nice and fine and the drop hash marks are clear. Two things I like about it over the old Nikon are the metal turret caps and the fast focus eye piece. Sometimes a little focus change is necessary.

One of the down sides, in fact the only one so far, was the turrets are a little mushy but only in one direction. I haven’t shot with it yet, so there is the final test. One thing about the Nikon was the clicks were very reliable. I don’t intend to dial on this scope, just zero and leave it. As long as the zero doesn’t change it should be fine.

I have 2 Droptines right now. The turrets on one are fine. Not crisp, tactile adjustments, but fine. The other is very stiff with barely noticeable clicks. Both adjusted perfectly though, and since I won't be dialing these, It's acceptable. I also set a droptine up on my grandson's rifle. It too was fine. Soft adjustments if you will, but tactile enough.

Has anyone considered the Vortex Copperhead scope? I have a few of them and have been very pleased. Way better than the Crossfire ii glass and cheaper than the Diamondback. I can't confirm this but I've seen online that the Copperhead model is Diamondback glass in a Crossfire ii tube.
