Ever since I sold 2 British Enfields .303, 10 years ago, I have regretted it. This is a very great rifle.

I got another chance at J&G Sales in Prescott, Arizona today. I picked off a good looking 1944 model.

It should be at my door within a week thanks to my C&R! No fuss, no muss!

I sold my Model of 1917 when my son was born. Needed the money. Bought a replacement during the COVID year. Glad to have one back. This one much nicer than I could afford back then. Much more expensive too. Glad you were able to get another.

I remember back in the 80’s an Enfield in excellent condition sold from $65 to $80. To bad I wasn’t into Enfields back then.
I bought my first No4 Mk1 in 2007 for $120 from J&G Sales. The rifle had an odd stacking rod for hooking slings to stack rifles. I later found out that it was a Turkish stacking rod. In the pic, it’s the second from the left.
I have around 24 Enfields in my collection.

Ah, for the days of being able to pick up classic mil-surps for a song -- that barrel near the front door in one's LGS (or even a Big 5 Sporting Goods store in California no less!) with $59 and $79 rifles stacked in 'em, coated in that wonderful cosmoline...

Alas, I have no Enfields left, and regret the decision to divest myself of the old battle rifles.

OP, good decision to hang on to the C&R for at least a few last call items to complete the collection.

In Manhattan in the ‘60’s you had Kaufman’s Surplus on the west side with barrels of Martini style .310 Cadets at $11, and on the east side at Modell’s you had dump tables of Carcano’s at $8.

I was pretty young, but would have bought a Cadet if ammo was available. I was able to take advantage of good prices when I bought SKS’s and a Swedish rifle and short rifle In the ‘80’s.

Well, the .303 finally arrived at the door today by Fedex. Took a long 15 days. Maybe by Mule from Arizona!

But Hey, no problem. I got it with no fuss and no paperwork. It feels good to be free and a American.
J&G is a great company...always has been good to deal with for me for C&R items and everything else. Congrats on the Enfield!

My only problem with them is the required signature deal. I'm pretty rural and we don't have porch pirates, but I don't have the time to hang around waiting for UPS or Fedex to show. Ergo...I don't buy from J&G.

That’s where my Savage Lend-Lease No 4 Mk 1 came from, Big 5 had them on sale for $99.00 about 20 years ago.

Stay safe.

With My state going full commie on us I sold all my semi autos and will now start using my C/R.
Are there online dealers better than others?
Cabelas will accept the license, most LGSs around me will not, this being the PRI.
.My 2 favorites are www.aimsurplus.com in Ohio and www.jgsales.com in Arizona. I have dealt with them both since 2006. Usually a fine selection and great customer service.

Over 30 transactions between them and not one delivery problem. You will be happy with them both!

+1 on AIM Surplus.

Good prices on guns and ammo, and good availability on ammo, in addition to good service. When the panic was on they did not price gouge.

They generally have lots of used police surplus pistols. Same for Eastern bloc military pistols. Even had S&W and French police Manurhin revolvers some time back.
