I got my 452 in .22WMR two weeks ago and am just now getting around to this. Right out of the box it had amazing accuracy (for me anyway) and a great trigger. I took it out prarie dog hunting and it is a great PD gun. We had a lot of kills at ~100m using the irons. I do have one question though, are all of the CZ 452 rifles stamped "American" in the US? Mine is the full stock model but is stamped CZ 452-2E ZKM American.

I took it out to the range again yesterday and shot about 100 rounds (it has about 450 rounds through it so far) I was using Fiocchi Performance ammo. It is a 40gr JSP round and does quite a number on PD's. Once again it shot very good, I would bet money that the bad groups are my fault. I am hoping that after going to an Appleseed on the 2nd and 3rd of August and putting a sling on it my groups will tighten up a bit.

The first target is 25m from a bench, no bags or rest. Five shot groups

This target is 25m standing, once again five shot groups

the shots in the middle were from me messing around at 75m and they were supposed to hit the top right target not the middle so I gave up on that venture for now

The last target is 25m prone five shot groups

I was proud of my shooting even though I know there is a lot of room for improvement. This is my first bolt action and my first rifle with iron sights

I think the fact that you have a magnum length rimfire is the reasoning for the American stamp (which should have a 3/8" rail).

I don't really know what you mean with the 3/8" rail part. What rail? I don't know much about rifle terminology but I am learning, slowly.

I think what hksw was referring to is that the dovetail on the top for mounting scope rings is 3/8" for "American" models, while all the others have 11mm "European" dovetails. Though the measurements are close, the angle is different, so make sure you get appropriate rings for your CZ.

I agree, I paid $468 including tax for mine and I know the groups aren't much but I shoot better at things like golfballs and PD's then I do at targets. My dad and I made 75yd head shots a lot with that gun and I was shooting golf balls at 50-75yds. Anyone know where I can get a good USGI sling for it? Also, thanks Siderite for clearing that up, I am not putting a scope on it but it is always good to know. One thing I don't understand is why the mags are so long when they only hold 5rds and why extra mags are so expensive.

Not quite sure what style of USGI sling you want, but here's one example: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/MGR015-1393-1159.html

Though if you just want a simple 2-point sling, going to Ace hardware (or other hardware store that sells these items) and getting 1" nylon webbing and the triglides is quick and easy (though doesn't really match the rifle well).
