I see the .221 Fireball listed as an option for the CZ 527 at the cz-usa.com site. What is the velocity of this round from a rifle, and how is the accuracy from this particular model? I know/own CZ rifles and am not asking for a reference for their product line.

Thanks

Think of the fireball as a round inbetween a 22 Hornet and a .223 Remington. According to the latest Sierra loadbook, you can expect to shoot bullets in the 40-55 grain or so, at velocities up to around 3000 and a little over, if I remember correctly. I've also heard that it is a lot easier to load for than the Hornet, I can testify to the finickiness of the hornet, and my next varmint gun may just be a walk-about Fireball.

I am planning on my next centerfire being a 221. In ascending case capacity it goe...221...222...223. They have a common case head measurement. It should be a heck of a walk about rifle and round. I think the CZ will be my choice. It is reasonably priced, lightweight, has a set trigger and a true mauser type action.
Neat package! And the Fireball seems to handload well.
