CZ-75 compact or why not a CZ-82?

Ive been a fan of CZ for years (fan means I dont have any) , not sure what version the compact is in the 75 series , but with prices so cheap for the 82 ,Im wondering ??? But that said is ammo prevalent for the 82?

9X18 ammo is abundant and cheap, and you'd be hard pressed to find a better pistol for the money than the vz.82.

The ammo selection and quality advantage goes to the 9x19. When quality components like bullet type, brass case,.....are sought (we are not taking steel cased stuff that produces cloud of smoke and sparks) the price of Luger round seems much less. The 90gr Cor-Bon JHP load for 9x19 has 75 yard velocity equal to most 9x18 loads at the muzzle. Does this info help you decide?
It seems to me that the only thing 9x18 has going for it is Pistolet Makarova and the CZ82 plus few others from behind the ole' wall.

True and thats why i mentioned the 82, as far as the 2rounds though is there any real difference between the two ,stopping,velocity,killing,etc? I have to admit the 82 prices iv seen are at 199 w/2 mags ,holster not a bad deal if the ammo is avalable,not sure how it shoots, i might get one

9x19 is almost twice as powerful. can be twice depending on the load.

The 9 MAK is a souped up .380, not a shorter 9mm.

Your 9mm is both heavier and faster in most instances.

Loads like the Hornady XTP and newer FTX are best in the
the CZ82 if you want somehting more than FMJ.

people are looking for smallers CZs to carry now.

You can't go bad with a CZ82 or CZ83.

An excellent way to get into CZ quality and reliability
on a budget.

What are you going to be doing with the gun, it's enough gun for Personal defense, now if you want to get into a long distance firefight, well, I prefer a rifle for those...

If you like it, and consider that the ammo is CHEAPER than 9mm, and understand that it's bigger than .380, lighter than 9mm, it's light, easy to shoot and cheap. The guns are simple and reliable. I'd pick up the 82 just to have it, side's you know that they are still making new 75's. My 82 is quite amazing, I'm rather sure it's the 2nd most accurate handgun I have, right after my Rugar MKIII

Although the .380ACP and 9x18 are not interchangeable from practical standpoint these are equivalent unless +5 grains and about 50fps greater velocity is significant.

I've always said that given a limited budget and the ability to locate
ammo.

The Surplus CZ82 would be an ideal budget gun for someone looking for
a modem of protection without spending a bunch of money.

A very safe and smooth action with the option of cocked and locked
or DA first shot.

Like most CZs, the ergonomics are spot on, and very few people ever complain about it not fitting.

Nor- do you hear of them breaking or jamming.

They also have softer recoil than most blow-back .380s or 9mm Maks.



You can also add custom grips and real deal CZ Nites.

An economical way to get into legendary CZ reliability and quality, at a time when people are looking for smaller guns to carry in hotter weather.

I opted for the CZ 83 because I already had a .380 and did not want to add another caliber to my ammo inventory. Basically the same gun. Mine was a police trade-in in 99% condition that I picked up for $230.

Great shooter, super accurate. Allen's made me a nice high rise custom holster for it.

You won't be disappointed with the CZ 83/82 pistol.

Just my experience ~ I've got real use to hammered SAs with a decocker. The 83 took a little getting used to, but that's definitely not a deal breaker considering everything else it brings to the table.

Too many years without a CZ usmc...
They are 'top-of-the-line' pistols and are worth owning several.
My two favorites (after the 75B) are the P-01 and the CZ-82 (one of the sweetest shoots out there!!)...
A good quality '82 can still be had for about $200, start there... I found one NIB and jumped on it!!
The P-01/Compacts are great CCW/HP guns... Let the Collection begin!!

The '82 is a great way to get into CZ quality with only a little scratch. Ammo is plentiful, quality is excellent, accuracy is impressive and ergonomics are superb. I don't believe there is a better deal in firearms available today.

Use cheap steel ammo for practice and pick up some quality ammo for social work.

I liked the first one I bought so much I picked up a second. To tell the truth, I have to work at convincing myself not to buy a third!
