And no offence to Woolecox or any other MPX owner

Non taken. With all the Sig bashers and haters it’s easy to get bad information.

I dug up all the reviews and videos I could find after shooting them all and before buying. When I bought mine it it was just over $1300 for the pistol.

I saw the one video where a guy was getting malfunctions supposedly because his trigger pins were walking out. Really? It is the same trigger, pin, spring retention system as any AR. Although not as creepy and heavy as some, I did replace my factory trigger with the excellent Geissele SSA-E.

Some other guy was whining about gas in the face when suppressed. Nope, not a bit. Again, just like any other piston driven, locking bolt AR with a can on it. Very clean. Lower pressures and less gas than any 5.56 I have ever shot suppressed. Not an issue.

Some other guy said magazine changes were a little bit hard. Hmmm, press the release and the empty mag free falls to the ground. A fresh one snaps solidly and easily into place just like an M4, Glock, etc.

Heavy? Well yes, it will be heavier than any gun with a lot of plastic on it. The MPX is all steel and aluminum except for the polymer grip. The naked MPX weighs 5.0 lbs. Combat configured like my post above, it tips the scale at 8 lbs, 12 oz. with loaded 30 round mag.

- Ti-Rant suppressor
- AimPoint T-2 Micro wth Larue Mount
- Sig sliding collapsible stock
- Surefire Mini Scout combat light with Larue mount
- Sig back up iron sights (co-wittnessed)
- 3 Bucc brass catcher mount
- Sig single point sling
- 30 round mag loaded with 147 grain XTP’s

My wife and I both handle it with ease. The ambidextrous controls are a bonus. I bought the excellent Lancer 30 round magazines when you could get a 3 pack for $120. I bought two packs. I’m set.

I got my suppresser and stamp about 3 weeks ago. Took it to the local indoor 100 yard range. I zeroed the 147’s at 50 yards. That puts me 1” high at 25 and 2.5” low at 100 yards. I was shooting 5 shot groups right around and inch off sand bags. I think it would shoot MOA or better with a magnified optic and a capable shooter.

Not trying to highjack the thread here, I know it is about EVO’s and they certainly seem to be solid weapons. But, as you can tell by now, I am a big Sig Sauer fan. I have an older P229 SAS in 40 S&W, P226 Legion in 9mm, the MPX, and a MCX that I bought for the sole purpose of making into a 300 BLK SBR.

They are all as good or better (my opinion) than anything that I have ever owned or been issued by the Military or LE agency. Maybe with the exception of the new Colt LE6940. Love that carbine.

Nothing is perfect though, is it? My biggest beef with Sig is there inability to meet demand and the cost. I have had a 9” 300 BLK barrel and the large for-end on order now for over 3 months and there is still no estimate. But, that is pretty much like every other US manufacturer today. I have stuff on indefinite backorder from McMillan, Nightforce, Hornady, etc. I think the bulk of my backordered product are going to the military and LE around the world. Consumers are left out it seems.

Anyone in the North Houston area and has a gun like this of any kind? Give me a shout and we will go wring them out.

I have time ... and a Dillon 550B, so if its more than $10 a box I reload them ... for all my guns ... I think everything my Scorpion eats is reload.

Totally the way to go. Nice to have a rifle that uses the same ammo as several of my pistols. Love my RL550B. Awesome machine.

Most of the negative comments about the MPX and MCX I've heard is from members on the SiG form; to each their own but I've just gotten tired of being let down by SiG just because I'm an early adopter of a product ... which is the big "why" I went with the Scorpion. I've come to the conclusion that if I'm going to get something new I need to wait to see how it pans out ... THR and SiG form is where I mostly hang hat so, I'm not a SiG hater ... in fact, far from it as I have 11 SiG's that I can think of off hand.

The comments from people about a 7-8 pound 223 being heavy, is kind of silly to me ... if that's too heavy, maybe they need to work out a bit, however I always felt the UZI was un-necessarily heavy for a 9mm and looking at WIKI the UZI is almost 8 pounds (like the MPX) and the MP5 is like 5.5-6 pounds ... in FA that weight does help make it more controllable but most of our 9mm carbines are semi and don't need that weight.

Could you asnwer one question about the MPX - I'd heard that the very first series were changed so much that the next gen magazines won't work with them. True or not" Honestly don't know. Actually saw my very first MPS in the flesh while picking up my BREN 805 today.

It looked nice. Are the MPX magazines durable?

I could not tell you about any various "gen" of the MPX. I got mine about 7 months ago and it ships with the Lancer 30 round mags. When and were these came into the picture for the MPX or if they are backward compatible, I could not say. I have had a dozen or so Lancer mags for my M4's for a couple of years. They are very reliable. And I really like being able to see rounds remaining.

Seems to be as good as any I have ever ran. But, operators that run them harder than me can probably answer that better. What I like most about these magazines is that to load, you just simple push the cartridge straight down just like loading and AR magazine. No sore thumbs or special loaders required. Like most have said about the CZ, I have yet to have any kind of a failure.

Congrats on the BREN!

That's amazing. Now, if I could just find one of those at a reasonable price...

A 7.62x25mm CZ-built AR-15? Yes, please!

...however, the address includes the word "2003", so I'm hoping those aren't rifles effective 13 years ago.

ETA: Bazooka Brothers will build you/me one, but at around $900/upper, it won't be cheap. Also, it won't be a short magwell design.
