I just picked up a CZ Scorpion today, thats going to be a SBR and also a host for a 45 Tirant that I am waiting on. I only had for a few hours before i dropped it off to be engraved.

I read the new Scorpions are coming with 1/2 by 28 threads. I think mine is a new one, as it has the welded trigger pack screw. I unscrewed the flash hider, but they are not 1/2x28. Where is the 1/2x28 threads and how do i get to them?

Brion

The only Skorpion I have any experience with directly is the older vz61. That said, Silencer Shop appears to offer an adapter here for yours. May be worth a shot and/or contact them.

Several companies make I a 1/2x28 adapter ... I got a 3-lug adapter from TROS & a direct thread adapter from Silencerco for my Octane 45 ... but it won't fit in the factory case with the 3-lug on it

I see they have a SIG buttstock catch on there . Interesting.
I'd ventured to guess it's the most copied stock catch idea of synthetic folding stocks ... The CZ Bren 805 is very similar ... It sticks in my brain that Choate has a similar button on some of their stocks ... Look at the the HK G36 & UMP ... Even Todd Bailey used a similar button (only rectangular) for his PSP-10 but he borrowed a lot of ideas for that design

The muzzle sports larger 18x1 threads, then it steps down further towards the muzzle to a 1/2x28 thread pitch. Both are covered by the muzzle device. This allows the shooter to use either American or European threaded devices.

Got a picture of it?
Is it the same muzzle devise that came on the earlier EVO's or different/longer?

If it is a new one, there is another thread protector under the flash hider.

I equipped mine with a folding Shockwave brace and may yet SBR it. Tried it with a Ti-rant 45 but may end up with a dedicated 9mm variant.

Mine is the older version...I had US Machine gun add the 1/2x28 threads. For my money, this was a much cleaner solution than buying an adapter.

Disassembling the gun completely to remove the barrel to send to USMG was a side-benefit. I really enjoyed seeing the whole mechanism inside out, something I would never have done otherwise.

How complicated is it to remove the barrel?

It wasn't hard at all. YouTube was my friend. The only tricky thing was unscrewing the barrel nut...I understand that the factory used red locktite on some, but mine came off pretty easily.

Another thing to note: I broke out my welded trigger pack, installed a set of lightened fire control group springs, and polished up the trigger internals. I really like the result. Very much worth the time and effort and pretty easy.
