I took apart my CZ today for the first time to clean it and found this interesting spot on the backside of the slide stop. Any ideas what it is. It looks like that part of the stop didn't receive any finish. I felt it and it doesn't feel rough but I wonder if it's still rust.

Didn't even need to look at the pic. Not rust, CZ basically brazes those slide stops together.
Not sure of the exact welding process CZ uses, do know they use a silicone bronze mix hence the rust colored hue.
Car manufacturers have been using Sib for decades to weld up body panels.

Thank you. This is the first time I've seen this which is why I was concerned.

I have an “Orange” (superbly accurate shooter by the way); my slide-stop is nicely finished all consistent black (so is my 75B). I would guess that CZ would replace your stop with one properly finished if you contacted them.

My TS2 stop is the same way. I knew it wasn’t rust, but I’m glad to know some details. I don’t recall any of my older CZ’s looking like this.
