Czech VZ24 scope mount options

I know, I know...take it to a gun smith instead of asking internet quarterbacks.

It was said "this is absolutely dialed in at 100yds." That may or may not be true. I did hit ONE bullseyse! As my rifle-recoil muscle memory is set in .22LR, i couldn't possibly determine how well this sketchy setup works. I DO know that the Bushnell Sportview 4x scope leaves a lot to be desired.
The rear mount is halfway suspended in space. The front mount has a Coke can shim under it.
Are the mounting screw locations OK at least?
For now, I won't fix what ain't broken, at least until i get the required new muscle memory for recoil control.
I am hesitant to mess with it to upgrade the scope, lest it never acquire adequate consistency.

dont see how the hole spacing could be changed on the front base, looks pretty much like I think it should. the scope ring could be loosened and moved forward, that would help. more likely, that scope isnt gonna work well, with the ocular flare starting where it does. at present, the ring doesnt have a secure grip on the base, so I would not expect it to be stable and consistent.

My google-fu sucks and doesn't come up with ocular flare. What is it you mean?
